Bak Kut Tea @ 小陈故事

I was nearby Clarke Quay for a company event and decided to hop in to 小陈故事 with my colleague for lunch.

They serve the peppery type of bak kut teh which I love! The selection is quite decent.

The place is huge but for weekday lunch, it is quite empty.

The decor is quite old school too.

We ordered a pork ribs soup to share. The pork ribs was ok. Not the tender meat type. The soup was good thou. Its peppery enough. The bad thing was they only allow you to top up the soup once! And when the top up was done, it was meager. The top up didnt even fill up the whole bowl! To me, the joy of eating bak kut teh is not only it in the bak kut. But the flexibility of free flow refilling of the soup makes it more meaning to eat bak kut teh. Don't you agree? Anyway how much soup can a diner drink?

We also ordered the pig stomach soup to share. Thank goodness the pig stomach tasted alright. It doesn't have the piggy smell. Preparation of the pig stomach is very important in ensuring that it does not have a weird after taste stench. But the portion is miserable. There were only a few pieces of pig stomach in it.

The salted vegetable aka kiam chye would have tasted better if its softer.

We also ordered the braised pig intestines. The texture was alright but nothing fantastic.

If you are at Clarke Quay for fun and drinks, dont ever vomit in this restaurant. Otherwise you will have to pay $50 for cleaning fee!

Two of us, we spent about $24 for lunch. Overall, it was still ok but not fantastic.

Would I Return to this Outlet: Probably Not
Got Service: 5/10
