Teddy & Me @ Marina Square

We passed by Teddy & Me outlet previously but was too full to try it out. This time, we made an effort to visit it.

The entire cafe theme is Mr Bean. Mr Bean is a love-hate character. If you have watched his comedies before, you will know what I mean.

They have quite a fair bit of ice cream flavours. But I find the range so so. Nothing quite fantastic that would make me want to come back again.

They serve a few varieties of crepes. But unfortunately, the day we visited, they didnt have the rainbow crepe which I wanted to try!

There are tablets mounted near each table playing Mr Bean's comedies to keep you entertained.

I ordered a strawberry crepe. It was so so. Nothing fantastic.

I find the prices not very reasonable for the taste. If the items are good, at least it would have been worth the price.

Hatter Street @ Kovan

This is my second visit to Hatter Street. The last time when I visited, I was kinda skeptical of its pandan ice cream so I did not have that.

This time, I ordered their popular ice cream flavour - pandan.

Boy, it was really yummy!

You should give it a try.

During the second visit, the waffle still did not disappoint.

This time, iced water was available for diners. :)

The Scoop Place

I heard from my bff about this ice cream place that serves nice ice cream and waffle. Since we were in the East, we decided to hop over to hunt for it.

We were quite surprised that there are quite a few eateries in UE Biz Hub in Changi Business Park area.

The Scoop Place is a small little ice cream stall in UE Biz Hub. We almost couldn't locate it.

It was about 8.30pm when we reached. There was no patrons on a weekend. I guess because its late and its a business park area hence the lack of crowd. Good thing is its difficult to find a place that is quiet to enjoy your ice cream. :P

We ordered a waffle and THREE scoops of ice cream. Usually max its 2 scoops of ice cream. But because the ice cream tastes good and its quite reasonably priced, we thought... why not one more scoop? *chuckles

And so we ordered a orange dark choc, a mao shan wang and a lavender vanilla flavour! Anything lavender or mint goes well with me.

The lavender vanilla is so so good that my hub cannot resist and kept saying good!

Look! A single classic scoop of ice cream is only $3!!!! 

The ice cream was so good that in the end, we packed a tub of lavender vanilla home. Hahahahahaha!!! And a tub of it costs us only $10.50. Super worth!!

The Dream Cafe @ Toa Payoh

It was by chance we uncovered this cafe in Toa Payoh after a failed attempt to try Creamier due to the super long Q. The Dream Cafe is located pretty near to Creamier.

There weren't many patrons on a weekend evening.

We ordered a waffle and ice cream to share. Hmm... nothing much to rave about the waffle and ice cream. We've had better ones elsewhere. But service was not bad. A lady tried offering candy to my boy. I guess they were trying to go an extra mile for their service. :)

Hatter Street @ Hougang

I think we have gone waffles crazy lately. We have been going around eating waffles and that explains the extra pounds piled on my face and waist. LOL

We have always been wanting to try the waffles at Hatter Street because we have heard how good it was. It's rather near my place and we are in fact at the area every Sunday morning for my boy's art class. But unfortunately, by the time he finishes his class, the shop is not opened yet. 

Finally, we got to try it today because we had rescheduled his art class to a later timing. Hatter Street opens at 1pm so while waiting for him to finish his class, we hopped into Hatter for a waffle ice cream.

Hatter Street is owned by a young lady who used to be a teacher. Because of her interest in culinary, she went to pursue her interest. Way to go! Not many people dare to take such a huge risk and what more, setting up a small cafe requires not only guts, determination but huge capital!

The cafe is rather small. Well, most cafes especially those in the heartland are quite small anyway.

There were pastries as well but we chose to try their waffles instead.

We heard their pandan flavoured ice cream with waffles is good but we decided to try chocolate instead. For $8.90 that was rather reasonable.

The wait for our waffles order was amazingly quick! For that, I am already impressed. 

For its efficiency, you may think the waffle might have tasted mediocre but to our surprise, it was good! Crispy and fluffy where necessary! The ice cream was rich and smooth too.

We have been looking for a chance to go back and try their pandan ice cream waffle!

Overall, the experience is pleasant and while having our dessert, one of the tables next to us was placing our order. The young lady serving them was patiently explaining to the patrons. That I was pleasantly pleased which how she had bothered to explain in proper to the patrons. There were many instances of front line / ground staff simply shrugging a 'IDK aka I Don't Know' or one two word response to diners when asked a question.

Just like when I asked if they served iced water... I was just expecting a Yes or No. But the same lady told me they don't serve iced water because the water dispenser is spoilt. At least she bothered to tell me that. Many others would have simply told me 'No'. :)
