Eighteen Chefs @ The Cathay

Been craving for Eighteen Chef's heart attack but its crowded during peak hours. Got to know that they have opened an outlet at The Cathay and we were on leave so decided to head there for lunch. We were early and they are open only at 11.30am. But the guys were nice to let us sit and look at the menu first.

When the shutters were drawn, people started streaming in.

Their menu is reasonably priced.

Decide what you want to eat, write your order on the order chit and proceed to the cashier for payment. Your food will be served.

This is one of their popular dish - heart attack. The first time I had it at Cineleisure it was so good that I have been wanting to try it again.

While hub was still at the cashier paying, the drink was already served. Quite impressed with that. :P

We ordered chicken wings side but not very impressed with this. Portion is small in a huge bowl. My take it if the portion is small, put in a smaller bowl so that it doesn't look miserable! And the chicken wing was overly fried. Hmm.... hope its not left overs from the day b4 and they fry it again.

Hub had this creamy mushroom pasta. Not exactly what he thought it should be.

I had the heart attack again. It's beef strips with fried garlic rice. The rice is still nice like the 1st. Not as expected for the beef strips and chilli. The beef doesn't have that nice juicy taste like what I had the first time! Quite disappointed. Maybe different chefs so the taste differs.

Even the chilli sauce that is supposed to give you that ooomphhhh and kick.... had no effect on me. SIGH!

After this meal at Eighteen Chefs, I think I don't have cravings for their heart attack anymore.

Enough about the food but a little bit about who is Eighteen Chefs. Eighteen Chefs has a social vision to help troubled youths and people with conviction backgrounds to integrate back into society. I thought that is nice. It's a proper platform for these willing hearts to integrate and contribute back to society. At the same time, they can pick up a skill or two in the F&B industry.

Right now, there are three outlets islandwide. The next outlet will be opening in Ang Mo Kio Hub soon.

Will I Return to This Outlet: Unlikely
