Warning: This is a photo intensive entry.
This is our 2nd time at Tulipmania. Similarly it was hosted in the flower dome at Gardens by the Bay just like last year.
Our family has visited Gardens by the Bay several times and we kinda love the place. So this time round, hub decided to sign up for a family annual pass to be friends of the gardens. This will allow us free entries into the conservatories all year round, complimentary parking and discount at selected eateries within the gardens.
This one year membership allows 2 adults and up to 3 children per entry at $180 a year. If you are thinking of getting a family annual pass and sharing it among family members, unfortunately this is not allowed. Your picture will be taken on the spot and printed on the card and upon entry, the ticketing officer actually verifies the person entering is the same as the picture on the card. :))))
Back to Tulipmania... we are equally excited this time round to see the beautiful flowers.
The flowers are so pretty!
One good thing about visiting the flower dome is if the weather gets really unbearable, the dome is the perfect place to hop into for some airconditioning. LOL
I super like this interesting plant! It looks like it has been covered with snow but it is not. Such a pretty sight!
Where there is tulip, there will be dutch clogs too. Both come from the same country. Don't tell me you don't know where they are from? :)))))
This year we are lucky. At least we picked the right weekend to visit Tulipmania. At least all the flowers bloomed. Unlike last year, the flowers are not in full bloom when we visited.
Visiting the dome, looking at all these beautiful flowers will unlikely make one unhappy. The colours are so bright and cheery!
KLM is the sponsor for Tulipmania so this year there are special appearances by Miffy. KLM even flew Miffy in to Singapore to grace the Tulipmania event.
Besides the flowers, there was an easter hunt activity going on too. Since it was the easter period, so limited kids get to participate in the easter hunt at various time slots. The kids get to go round the dome to pick up easter chocolate eggs. At the end of it, they can redeem gifts through a lucky draw.
My hub wasn't keen for the boy to take part cos he was more eager to look at the flowers and snap pictures. So our poor boy (lucky he wasn't aware of the hunt) didn't get to participate.
Windmill is another trademark of Holland.
Visiting the Tulipmania every year brings back memories of my trip to Holland in 2002. I really miss Europe very much! Having the chance to visit Europe twice and each time for 3 weeks... I ought to really count myself fortunate! But then who would mind another three weeks in such a wonderful country? Haha!
Finally we see Miffy! Glad we timed our time just nicely so that we get to see Miffy at the end of the flower dome. People were Q-ing to have their pictures taken with Miffy. But we always take the cheap thrill of just seeing and taking pictures from the side. Too lazy to Q up for picture. :P
Miffy is kinda cute but she is always so solemn looking. It's nice KLM flew Miffy in to make the Tulipmania slightly different this year.
