Ichiban Sushi

Ichiban Boshi is one of the favourite Japanese restaurant for our family. They have a wide variety of Japanese items in their menu. Food quality wise is quite good too.

Price range is considered reasonable but that also depends on what you order.

This is the first time I try their fried salmon skin and i kinda like it. Not too oily or tough.

Their salmon don is one of my top favourite. I almost always order this whenever I visit Ichiban Boshi.

Over the years prices for their salmon don increased. It used to be $11.90 then $12.90 and now $13.90!

This mushroom in butter set is good too but kinda expensive. For $9.90 the portion is quite small. But its yummy to the taste so once a while we will order this.

The ichiban group has this rewards card. For every $20 spent, you get a stamp. This accumulated stamp entitles you to freebies, vouchers or a spin on the wheel to get more freebies.

Overall, the food is good but services wise across outlets varies. Some outlets are really slow with service or some are inflexible.

The worst outlet we have experienced is in Great World. Not only inflexible, slow and they gave us wrong order. Not only that, they totally forgot our kid's meal order!

For example on inflexibility, their kids meal comes with fried stuff. I tend to avoid giving my boy too much fried stuff and so I ask for replacement items. Some outlets will oblige willingly while some others insist a flat no. I would think its not hard to have replacement of the same value. I am not requesting for item of a higher value and if its a replacement item to sushi... that is easily made in the kitchen since they need to make sushis to replace the conveyor belt anyway!

Restaurants that are kids friendly are important to us parents. Sometimes where or what we eat depends on our kids. We hope all Ichiban outlets can adopt a more flexible arrangement as long as it doesnt affect their revenue.
