Nihon Mura Express @ Cineleisure

The other day we wanted a simple, fuss free meal and we saw Nihon Mura Express.

Previously, Nihon Mura was a full fledged Japanese restaurant. They had closed some of these full fledged resaurants and converted them into small outfits named Nihon Mura Express. When they were a full fledged restaurant, food quality, prices and service was not too bad.

Now at Nihon Mura Express, all items on the conveyor belts are at $1.50++. Seating capacity is smaller and all tables are tiny. Even the staff strength per outlet is quite sparse.

It was on a weekend and we went to Q up for it at around 5+pm. There was no one in the Q except us. In the entire restaurant, we only saw two staff at that time. One was clearing plates and the other at the cashier. After settling the bill for a customer, the cashier did not attend to us despite seeing us at the Q. Neither did she even acknowledge our presence and assure us that we will be attended to with a table shortly.

Is it because it is now in express mode hence this kinda service standard?

I spoke up and told her that we are waiting for a table. She merely said wait and that's it! Excuse me?! Sigh. Its express, its cheaper, so no need give normal service? This is basic service right?

We waited for a while because the empty tables were cleared for us.

You can place your order via the touch screens by the conveyor belt. I think they should save on this and spend the monies on training their staffs.

We used to patronize Nihon Mura a lot until they shut their restaurants and converted to these express outlets. Since then we hardly patronize them and when we do, we dislike their express concept and services a lot! I hope they will look into this and bring back their full fledged restaurants.

When we ordered our Ebikko sushi from the touch screen, we waited for a long while b4 being served with our order. Despite checking with 2 different staff, they never got back and the order still took a while.

Quality wise of the food.... well.... for $1.50 you really cannot expect much! On a similar concept, I think Sushi Express is definitely better in terms of service!

Will I Return to This Outlet: Unlikely
Got Service: 0/10
