It's a tedious process deciding where to bring my hub for his yearly birthday dinner. I am always so full of ideas of where to dine but just cannot decide where. After surfing around for a long long time and shortlisting some places, I finally decided on Sentosa Quayside Isle but there are so many eateries there so it is another round of research, struggle and shortlisting. :P
I love the tranquil dining places at Sentosa Quayside Isle. After surfing on every restaruant available there and hesitating, I decided on Brussels Sprouts.
The lovely yachts docked at the bay during sunset.
It's really quiet on a weekday. Perfect for a short quiet retreat.
There are several restaurants or chill out place to choose from. You will be spoilt for choices.
Brussels Sprouts are known for their mussels. They have a good assortment of menu and I love it that they have kids menu.
Hub ordered a lychee frizz and while it is not cheap.... its good! The NZ red wine is so so thou.
Our appetisier - the portobello mushroom is yummy!
We ordered two shell starters to share. Each starter is $20. If you order 2 pots of mussel starters, its at $30 promotional price. We ordered the Brussels Sprouts Special in clear broth. The mussels are fresh and cooked just nice. The texture is not tough or too dry at all.
We didn't want to have two pots of mussels. So we chose clams for the 2nd shell starter. This is the tom yam flavour clams which is so so good! We both love this very much! Unfortunately many of the shells were empty as the meat comes off easily for such shell food. This is also at $20 a starter pot. If you want, you can always order a main sized pot at $40.
The shells come with fries.... with free refill! But how much fries can one eat? :)
We are both small eaters so we decided to just order one main to share. It was really just nice. If we had ordered a main each, we probably would not be able to finish it. The beef steak is good and juicy but I would prefer if it had been thinner. It was a little tough at some parts.
Ordered a pink cream tomato sauce pasta for our boy. The pasta at $9 is purely just pasta with some fresh greens. Would be nice if the pasta comes with some mushroom or ingredients so that the kids can have a more balanced diet.
The service staff was nice to actually ask my boy if he wants to do some colouring and proceeded to get the tools for him. Attentive and polite service staff is a gem. It brings delight to dining customers and keeps the junior customers occupied and happy.
I will definitely be back again for its tom yam mussels / clams! Can't get enough of it. :)
There are outdoor and indoor seats with low and high tables to choose from. There is a small area outdoor for kid's play too. But I felt the slides and all were a little too tiny. It seems suitable for 9 -18 mths babies.
Reservations made via email was a breeze too!
On a side note, if they can keep the restaurant 'cleaner' it would be great. The minute they served us the dishes, the flies came along too. Plus we ordered starters, before we can even finish them, the main course is served. We had to eat and fend off the flies, worrying it lands on the main course which we have not touched. :(
