And so....since the dinner experience wasn't too pleasant, we decided to have happy food. To me, happy food are foods that can make me happy after eating them. :) It was also along the way back to our car, hence there is no strong reason why we should abstain from sweets after not a very nice dinner hunt.
Sinpopo... so retroish old school name huh? I actually kinda like it. I guess I like all things retroish la.
Anyway, sinpopo is like the same generation of kickapoo. Hahahaha ok they are not related in any way, just that the name sounds so cousiny. Hokays! I am just gibbering rubbish. You can ignore me.
This dessert place is along Joo Chiat Road. It's a few steps away from the traffic junction from Katong 112.
The shop front looks so so retroish. The decor and everything used in the shop is also just as retroish. Scroll down to see!
Wooohooo!!! No need to hunt hotel buffets that serve durian pengat! Now you can get it from sinpopo. Tee Hee hee!
The place is kinda huge but again kinda empty on a Sunday night. The east seems kinda quiet on weekend. Is this the norm? They used to be much crowded (I mean that area).
The menu is made like the old school register! Hahahaha cute right? Brings back memories of school days.
This is the durian pengat. Hmmm.... not quite up to the taste I like. They put in pcs of gula melaka and I felt it was too sweet.
Overall the two dessert we ordered is average. But for the ambience I dont mind visiting again.
