Shrove Tuesday

We had an early dinner and I didn't eat much cos it was too early. So we decided to head for some desserts to make up for the lack of dinner I had. Decided to visit Shrove Tuesday which is located in Toa Payoh, not too far from our place.

The shop is located under a block of HDB flat. Along the pavement, there are many other businesses / shops but Shrove Tuesday definitely stood out for its modern hippy concept.

We ordered a waffle with two scoops of ice cream - durian d24 and lychee rose. While the ice cream looks good, I cant say the same for the waffle. At first look, it looked not very cooked. I mean usually for waffles you would prefer if it looked more browny right? See the sides? It still looks quite white as if its heated not enough.

Looks can be deceiving you may say. But this time, looks did not deceive! The waffles really tasted as bad as our first look at it. Kinda disappointing. The waffles didn't taste fragrant although its crispy on the outside. But unfortunately, it was crispy inside too! Should waffles be fluffy? Hmm.... every knife we cut.... the waffles break into crumbs cos the insides were too crispy.

Their ice cream is good but not the waffles. For this, we paid over 10 bucks which I felt wasn't worth it at all. 

  

The ice cream flavours available aint to die for. The waffles doesn't leave me with a desire to 'Come Back Soon'. So there... unlikely we will return!
