Ampang Niang Tou Fu @ East Coast Road

Along East Coast Road, there are many eateries. This Ampang Niang Tou Fu shop has been there for years. With its huge signboard, you cannot miss the shop.

I was first introduced to this by an ex-colleague about 7-8 years back. The shop is spacious, brightly lit but sparsely decorated.

This niang tou fu shop sells ampang style fried tou fus.

We were early for dinner hence it was still quite empty. Just as we were about to finish our dinner, the crowd started streaming in. There were people ordering takeaways too.

You can either order their standard set or you choose the items you want.

We chose the items instead and for two to share. Total bill came up to $14+. I love its huge piece of tau kee. But unfortunately the ones we had that day wasn't that crispy. It felt it was left in the open for some time. :( The gravy that came with the niang tou fu was good. So good that hub polished the whole plate!

Food here isn't too bad, not exactly cheap but still ok. But if you want good service, almost expect none. The uncle who mans the cashier seems to be pulling a long face all the time and he eyes his patrons with eagle eyes, seemingly ready to prey on them anytime! I have ever seen him telling a kid off for drinking water that was not bought in his shop. Sometimes I feel kids should be given leeways although the shop says no outside food and drinks allowed.

Oh yes... do bring cash if you intend to eat there because they only accept cash.

Address:
225A East Coast Road

Will I Return to This Outlet Again: Yes
Got Service: Almost none :P
