Bangkok: Somtam

When in Thailand, one must eat Thai food... only then you can tell people you have been to Thailand! Haha!!

We walked past Somtam at Siam Centre and hesitated for a while if we should try this. The restaurant was half filled and the dishes on the tables looked good. So we decided to head in and try.

Somtam serves northeaster Thai food. On trip advisor, the reviews were quite positive.

There is quite a variety on the menu.

The restaurant is simply decorated but very modern and spacious.

We wanted to try Phad Thai but they do not have their in their menu. So we tried the fried noodles instead. While it is not very yummy, it is not too bad too. The noodles was sprinkled with pork floss and crackers.

This is their signature fried chicken wings which is to die for! It is really very good. We both agreed unanimously. We should have ordered the bigger plate. :P

This mango salad is a huge disappointment. It's way TOO SOUR! We didn't finish this.

Usually we see seafood or chicken tom yam soup. But Somtam serves mushroom tom yam soup to my delight. We normally will order seafood or meat dishes hence if the soup has seafood or meat too, its a tad too much. A balance like this mushroom soup is good. The clear tom yam is really delish.

After all the yummy food and shopping this trip, my heart is wild and itching to return to BKK soon! :P
