The Legoland hotel in Malaysia opened its door only last year... a year after its theme park opened. Hence, we have been waiting for a chance to visit. After seeing several blogs about it, it just hastens up our plan to visit! :)
After checking the prices online, thinking and discussing, we decided to visit on a weekday. At least it will not be so crowded and prices are friendlier too. For a 2D1N stay with breakfast and 2 adults and 1 child theme park tickets, we paid about $360 from Asiatravel.com. I think the price is quite reasonable.
Hub drove in to Nusajaya. Going in by Tuas 2nd link, it isn't that difficult to get to Legoland. There are many signages on the highway and you can always rely on your trusty GPS to navigate around. From the customs, its about 10 mins drive to Legoland. The surrounding is quite bare so it is not hard to spot the hotel given its colourful facade.
The minute we reach Legoland's carpark, we got all excited. The decor of the hotel itself is enough to excite you!! I love theme parks and I love kids theme hotels like this. Its just such a magical, happy and exciting feeling. Of cos it makes you forget you are an adult. LOL
Needless to say, if it excites me, it excites the kiddo even more. :D
The hotel facade is built with lego look alike bricks. You cannot miss it and its so pretty looking!
Huge lego characters lining the side entrance of the hotel to the theme parks.
Hotel lobby - service is kinda slow here.
The background of the reception counter is made of many many small lego characters!
The play area at the lobby while parents get busy with checking in.
Definitely a great delight to the boy to be able to immerse in the world of colourful bricks!
Every corner of the hotel, it is not hard to spot lego characters the size of a 2-3 yr old kid welcoming you in the hotel.
Nice that the seats at the lobby is also made to resemble lego bricks.
A pirate lego character at the pirates themed level.
Treasure chest in the room much to the boy's delight.
Lego bricks in the room for kids entertainment.
TV specially for kids in the room.
This is much to our delight and surprise. We didn't expect the room to be that huge to be able to take in so many people. In fact, it is enough for 5 adults and 1 child to stay in the room. Or 2 adults and 4 kids at least.
Love the themed rooms. It really brightens up your stay there.
Answer the questions on the quiz to derive at the password to your treasure chest.
Even the carpet is not spared. Its themed to the pirates. There are 3 themes in the hotel - pirates, adventure and kingdom. We love it so much that we want to come back to try the kingdom theme!
The room is very clean and its suitable for kids to roam around on their own. No fear of knocking into corners or anything. The room is also spacious for kids to hang out and play.
The toilet is equipped with an extra basin for kids. I think this is really a good idea. It makes the room so much friendlier for kids and encourages kids to brush their own teeth too.
The freebies uncovered from the treasure chest. This is a gem. Who doesn't love freebies?
The kingdom theme at the hotel corridor.
Among the three hotel room themes, I love pirates theme the most and followed by Kingdom!
Even the lifts are so cool. Step into the lift and you will feel as if you are on the dance floor. There's music and a led ball in the lift. It makes my boy taps his feet whenever he is in the lift.
The pool is kinda small and not very exciting. Will be nice if they had a nice bigger pool. But I guess the reason for the small pool is to encourage people to go to their water theme park. LOL
The lobby outside the restaurant is another play area for kids. But I feel its more for toddlers as the bricks here are relatively bigger and safer as its made of rubber / foam.
The bricks are so much bigger and made of rubber / foam. This is really friendly and safe for babies and even infants.
The history of lego.
Love the carpet... even that is in the lego bricks design.
I definitely want to go back again! The next time I want to bring my mum along. This place is so friendly for all people of all ages! When we were checking out the next morning, our boy kept asking why we are leaving? Hello boy.... if we can afford we wish to stay on and not go back too! :P
Overall the stay is really pleasant. The boo boo is the check in is 4pm and check out is 11am. Thus making the entire hotel stay much shorter! Another thing is.... if only they had free wifi!!! We are so spoilt with getting connected online easily in Singapore so during our stay, there was no free wifi. That's kind of so disconnected to the world. Hope they can put up free wifi soon and before we visit them again. :))
After I posted some pictures on FB when we return from the trip, several friends started texting me asking me about Legoland Hotel. This is really the power of social media and pictures paint a thousand words!
