Mid Autumn Fun for Your Little Ones @ Nex

See what I mean when I say I love living in Singapore? Even the malls have mid autumn activities to keep your little one entertained. Personally, I think it is good to let the kids partake in such activities so that they will grow to be familiar with the festives.

Nex organized a mid autumn celebration for the kids. But you need some minimum spend and is a member before you can get the free pass.

The event was held on level 4R, just outside the library.

Goodie bags were prepped and given to each kiddo. That was a nice gesture.

Some posters to educate the young on the festive.

Some of the free items in the goodie bag.

A DIY pack for kids to make their own lantern.

That was quite a nice activity to do under the sky.

There were mascots for kids to take picture with.

Actually, it would be nice if the activity is more hyped. It was kinda quiet. No host. No music. Kinda cold. Hopefully next year, it will be better if there is one.

Fun with Balloons @ AMK Hub

An after dinner window shopping at AMK Hub brought us some surprised delights. At the event plaza, we chanced upon some pretty looking balloons and realized there is a balloon event - Fun with Balloons going on from 31 May to 8 June.

In recent years, beautifully sculpted balloons are more commonly seen in Singapore. It is getting better and better each time.

Not only kids are delighted to see these beautiful creation... so are the adults!

It really takes a lot of effort to sculpt a balloon into an item or an animal. But so far viewers are a good bunch of people who appreciates this effort because I have yet seen anyone breaking the balloons and causing disaster to the sculpted balloons on display. Kudos to all these viewers for being so civic minded. Hehehehe

There was a Q for kids to get free balloon sculpting. But unfortunately when we saw, we were told the Q has closed, much to the disappointment of my boy and he cried! Actually, would be nice if they could give out something simple and made beforehand to those who came after the Q has closed. At least that way the kids wont get too disappointed. After all this event is more for them right?

Anyway, such a surprise find is always nice. That wrapped up my weekend nicely. :))))

The Great Egg-Venture @ Sentosa

The sentosa ran an easter hunt during the easter festive. We did not take part but merely went to join in a bit of fun by walking around and snapping pics of humongous painted eggs.

The eggs are really pretty. I love free events like that which we can have fun but yet not burning anything in the pocket. In singapore, its expensive to do family outings! Adult prices cost a lot and kids are payable by age 3. Unlike some countries we have been to... citizens pay at reduced rates and kids pay only after age 6.

anyway it was jus a simple walkabout but we definitely had fun. (:

Exotic Turkey @ Changi Airport T3

Our plans to go outdoor was changed last minute due to the rain. So we decided to head to the Changi Airport instead. The best time to head to the Airport is on a weekday. It's so quiet and not so crowded. Perfect for some peace with restaurants and shopping.

Currently, there is also an Exotic Turkey event going on at T3. There are travel booths with deals to Turkey, lucky draw and performances. There is also a small section of kid's play.

However, you will need an entry pass to get your child into the play area. With $40 spend at the airport, it will allow you to redeem one entry pass. If your receipt is from the supermarket, then you will need to spend minimum $80.

The entry pass allows the kid to play for 15 mins only.

On a Monday noon, it was not crowded but still we had to Q and wait for about 20 minutes because they had time slots. I thought they could be a little flexible on that since it was just my boy in the Q.

One of the three main activity for kids.

The horse riding. This one is cute and my boy enjoyed loads. You can go on this unlimited times in that 15 mins.

There are mock fishing ponds for kids to play too. But I thought that was boring. :P

I thought the waiting time was kinda silly on a weekday. If its a weekend I can understand due to the crowd. We waited outside to get in while the workers in there waited and stood around waiting for the time to let us in after the last batch of kids left. This definitely could be managed better.

Far East Organization Children's Garden @ Garden by the Bay

We have read about the availability of a newly opened children's playground in Garden by the Bay. So we took a late noon walk in the pretty city garden to check out this playground. The garden is sponsored by Far East Organization and its called the Far East Organization Children's Garden.

The playground has two areas - wet and dry and is suitable for kids 1 - 12 yrs old. The wet area was filled with excited kids messing with the water play. The place was actually quite crowded. Not so much the crowd of kids but its the parents who are crowding the seating area hawking their eyes on the kiddos.

The dry area which is like an adventure treehouse and trail is suitable only for kids from 6 - 12.

Shower area is also readily available for kids to wash up and change out after the fun.

We will probably be back another day to bring our kiddo there to join in the fun!
