After You Dessert Cafe @ Central World BKK

After You is a popular dessert place for many Singaporeans in Bangkok. They are famous for their Shibuya Honey Toast. The 1st visit in March, we tried their crepe and this time we tried their Shibuya Honey Toast. I must say it is really awesome!!

This outlet we went to is located in Central World. They have several outlets in Bangkok.

Decor is modern and you don't feel like you are in Bangkok at all. In recent years, things in Bangkok has gotten so modernized.

We were still full from our breakfast so we ordered a small one to share. To be frank, thick toast usually doesn't go well with me cos its too thick and dry. But you gotta try this! It's really good! Even my hub gave thumbs up for it.

Coffeol @ Asiatique BKK

Most minty things go with me. I love MINT!

When we went to Asiatique again, I saw a coffee joint having this minty drink promotion. OMG!! I just had to grab it.

It was around 5pm where they had just opened for business hence its quite quiet.

It's a really nice cosy place to hang out. And some tables had electrical points provided so you can charge your gadgets while catching up with friends over a coffee or two.

The minty choco ice blended is really lovely. Even my mum and boy loved it. If only we had saw this the first time we went!

Seefah Roasted Duck @ Terminal 21

Asia is a food paradise. Everywhere you go, there is food. No worries of being starved. You will be stuffed instead. :P

At this fairly new mall, Terminal 21, we decided to eat at Seefah Roasted Duck restaurant as it is one of the restaurants there that had not much Q.

It wasn't crowded but the food is actually quite delish.

I ordered a duck meat popiah... which actually tasted like peking duck just that its thicker like popiah and has more ingredients rolled in it. Its yummy!

Hub had a claypot rice dish.

I ordered a claypot noodle dish to share with my boy. This claypot noodle dish was so so though. It didn't look that appetising too.

Mum had a roasted duck meat rice set. It came with soup and veg which I thought was really value for money!

The durian glutinous rice was on its menu. It's really hard to resist so I ordered one to share. It's not too bad except that its a little too savory.

MaHi @ Asiatique BKK

We had our dinner at Asiatique. There were actually lotsa choices but we settled for Thai food. When in Thailand, eat Thai food!

This was a small little eatery serving Thai dishes called MaHi.

I love coconut water but it is too cooling to drink too much. Once in a while is fine and Thailand is known for its coconut. I can't resist not ordering one. :)

It may be a small little eatery but atmosphere is nice.

The pad thai is good!

And so is the tom yum soup. :)

This catfish dish... ahem.... we didn't expect it to be that huge. I thought it was just some catfish meat with the salad. Almost gave me a shock when it was served. And its our first time eating catfish. The way it was cooked, tasted really yummy!

The only thing I was quite disappointed was... we specifically asked for a noodle soup without chilli for our boy. The waitress noted our request but the noodle still came with chilli! We informed them and I'm not sure what they did... maybe just rinsed off the chilli and returned us the same bowl. *Fuming mad There was still the taste of spice so in the end my boy did not eat. 

For 5 dishes, rice and drinks, we paid about SGD40+. I would think its slightly expensive cos this is a touristy place.

Actually, initially I was quite impressed with the service cos when we reached, my boy was snoozing. They helped piece the stools together so that he can lie down and continue to snooze on the stools. Unfortunately, the incident on the noodle kinda spoilt the good I have of this eatery.

Asiatique the Riverfront @ BKK

This is a super super late post as I had been busy with work!

In March when we went to BKK, it was super super rush and packed. We just wanted to shop shop shop and so we skipped Asiatique. 

This time with an elderly and a toddler, we had a bit more time so we put this into the itinerary.

Asiatique is a new night market for shopping and food. The shops there opens only at 5pm. It is located across the river. There are free ferry shuttle services to get you there. Or if you want, you can always hitch onto a cab but its gonna be quite costly!

Ferry is a good transport when you have kids with you. Its a way for them to enjoy the different mode of transports that they don't normally get to ride on in city life like Singapore.

Take the BTS to Sapan Taksin station and the ferry shuttle service is just 2 minutes walk away! The ferry service starts at 4.30pm with intervals of 15 mins. Each ride is about 10 mins. It can get crowded so do go early to Q.

The ferry ride is quite scenic though the ferries are quite old and not so comfy to be in. Both times we went, it was so packed that we didn't have any seats. It would be good if they can cater those available seats for the elderly or the toddlers cos no one gave up their seats to my elderly mum and sleeping 20kg toddler and my husband had to carry him throughout the ride.

Finally, we reached the pier!

The asiatique is a really nice place.

Spacious... clean..... modern looking shops.... and not humid at all!

There is also a ferris wheel available.

There was a weekend flea market when we went and there was a stall selling quirky looking buns!

Every country is getting into the mood of having locks to pen wishes and lock your wishes on the grilles / gates. Bangkok has one too with Juliet guarding them. Hehe

We would have taken part too but the lock wasn't exactly cheap! So we aborted the idea.

We didn't take the ferry service back cos it was late and we were tired. We hoped into a cab which cost us about 350baht! I'm pretty sure that journey back to our hotel costs less than 200baht!

Anyway, we enjoyed ourselves in Asiatique and were too tired to jostle with the crowd to take the ferry and BTS back. I hope to be back again!!
