Kazokutei @ Bishan J8

We were at Bishan Junction 8 and so decided to head to this restaurant for dinner since we have not tried this restaurant before.

Every table has a mini ipad where you can look at the menu offered and place your order. The bad thing is there is only one unit per table so if you have a huge group it will take a while to get your order placed. There should be hard copy menus available so that others can go through the menu first and place the order via the tablet later.

The restaurant isn't very huge.

They are supposed to be good for their hand made udon but as I am not a fan of udon, I did not order that. Hub had the udon set though and he said it wasn't too bad. The set had choices of side dishes such as california roll, tempura and another chicken side dish. Hub chose the tempura and we ordered an extra side of california roll.

I had some duck rice set. The duck meat isn't very good. There is a after taste for the duck meat which i didn't really like. The rice was good though. Didn't realize my set came with tempura too. Otherwise hub can have mine and we could have save on the california roll.

The chawanmushi is really good! I think its the best among those I have tasted so far.

The food model display at the entrance of the restaurant.

Overall food is not bad. Service wise there isn't much to speak of so can't really comment much.

Social Square @ Parkway Parade

We are back at Social Square again for dinner. This time its to bring my mum there for her mother's day meal.

Food wise, its still as delectable as the last. Just that service wise was a little boo boo. There was a mixed up with table number and so the drinks we ordered was sent to the next table instead. And no one realized we didn't have our drinks until we asked where is our drinks. Only then they realized they were served but to another table!

Small portion for the salad is really really small! LOL

Udon for our boy.

I signed up the MOF member at $10. This allows us to get discount at every visit. Upon application and activation we can use it immediately.

I love red wine but the wine is too dry for my liking.

Escargots... so so.... had better ones at Au Petite. Cannot forget the food I had for my birthday in 2009!

Opps we were too famished and forgot to take a picture of the salmon set before eating. This was what my mum had.

We ordered another salad portion to share as the first one was too tiny.

As usual I had salmon don and likewise.... I was too famished and only remembered to snap a picture of it when I was about half done. Haha

I think the first experience was much better. May still visit some other time but not very strong compelling reason to do so like the 1st time we visited. :P

Clover Gac Seletar

Got to know about this place from the brother in law who had suggested to have Mother's Day celebration here.

It's kinda interesting. This place is kinda secluded and located next to the Seletar Airport. But there was quite a fair bit of people dining here during Mother's Day weekend. So its not that ulu afterall!

The shabu shabu buffet selection....

Chilled dessert.

From the dessert corner, you can see the airport runway.

I think it would be nicer to have a alfresco dining next to the airport, isnt it?

Place your order with the clips given on your table and clip it to the item you want.

I had requested for some meat and I was surprised that they actually retrieve it out from the chiller and slice them on the spot. Initially I thought the meat looks kinda thick. I like meat that are slicely thin so that its not too tough to chew. Surprisingly the meat turned out fine. Not too tough to consume at all!

The steamboat pot seems kinda small.

Sashimi.... one of my fav!

Free steam salmon fish head.

The night view at the rooftop.

Overall the place is kinda nice and food not bad. Service is not too bad too. At least all the food we order gets served and the staff is quick in clearing dishes. There didn't seem to be a lot of ground staff but service was not impacted. At least I felt there was constantly people attending to our table.

Social Square @ Parkway Parade

We were shopping at Parkway Parade when we passed by a new restaurant - Social Square. Well it may not be new to others but it is to us as it has been some time since we last went to Parkway. We thought the prices on the menu looked decent and upon looking at the menu then we realized its managed by the MOF group.

In general, we have tried several of restaurants under the MOF group and I must say their menu and prices are quite decent. When they first started years back, their food isn't that great. But they have improved over the years.

Anyway, we decided to dine here. Its a weekend and usually we tend to dine a little earlier to avoid the crowd. With a toddler, it's hard to Q and wait for seats. An active and hungry toddler has no patience. In fact, my hubby has no patience when he is hungry too.

I thought the entrance is quite a waste of space! Maybe they can turn the entrance into some side bar or mini playgrund or something and fully utilize it.

The range in their menu is quite massive. You will be spoilt for choices!

The ambience is quite cosy except that the aircon is freezing us!

Every table is given a tablet and you place your orders via the tablet.

The food order was served pretty fast!

We don't usually order too many dishes cos hub always think we spend too much money dining outside. But today is a little unusual. Hub wants to treat us and is ok with ordering extra sides. Yeehaaaa! *salivates

Hub kept saying he misses the tomato bruschettas he had in Italy. So we ordered a set.

Hub's main - seafood ramen.

A tomato based pasta for our little toddler.

My all time favourite salmon don!

Ebiko sushi .... favorites of both my men.

We ordered a minty iced tea with ice cream float and didn't expect it will come in a huge mug. Thank goodness we only ordered one. It is quite refreshing.

Overall the food is great and service not too bad.

I kinda liked the place and will be back again if there is a chance. ;)
