Singapore Garden Festival @ Gardens by the Bay

Singapore Garden Festival happens only once every two years. The very first garden festival was about 8 years ago and held at Suntec City. It was by chance we obtained complimentary tickets and attended the 1st show. If I remember correctly, this should be the 4th showcase.

Ticket holders to Singapore Garden Festival gets to visit one of the dome inclusive too.

But be warned, the Singapore Garden Festival is located at the other end of Gardens by the Bay (GBTB). So if you had parked at the main carpark, it can be quite a walk especially under the hot sun. There are shuttle bus services sending you from one end of the garden to another or to the MRT station but its $3/pax/ride.

To be frank, such a theme is super apt to be held in GBTB. But with the scorching sun, I'm not quite sure if I should feel enjoyable. We walked a long distance from the flower dome to where the garden festival was. :(

There were some stalls selling gardening related stuff outdoor and some landscaping outdoor too. There was a huge tentage housing other landscapings as well as flower arrangements.

The flowers and landscaping in the tentage were beautiful! But we felt the tentage was a tad too cramp to hold that crowd. So in the end, it wasn't such a good experience at all.

We didn't linger long but merely quickly snap a picture and move on.

Some outdoor displays.

I love this Singapore Flyer flower stand concept.

Over the years, the show has gotten more massive and international. But somehow hub and myself still feels that the very first showcase we attended was the best. We felt the participating landscapers were more impressive and the layout in Suntec then was so much better... more spacious and widely spaced.

This time round there were also bus loads of visitors seemingly to be from RCs bring residence to the garden showcase. That probably  added to the crowd.

Overall, while the flowers and installations were nice and impressive, we were not that impressed mainly because of the visiting experience. Quite a pity. Hope the next one will be better organized and better than the first show we have seen.
